Information

Group plants are based on upgraded Automatic German Technology ( rolling speed is 32 seconds as against 52 seconds or other mills). Production capacity of group plants is 60,000 MT per annum for HSD bars. 

The range or products for HSD bars includes Cold Twisted Deformed (CTD) bars, Thermo-Mechanically-Treated (TMT) Bars. Galvanised Thermo-Mechanically-Treated (TMT Gal.) bars and Stainless Steel (SS) bars. 

The plants are fully automated for hot rolling and precision twisting techniques. Modified Thermax cooling technoloy based on extensive R&D by Engineers and Technical staff has bepn adopted for the manufacture of TMT bars.

TMT Bar

Sharma TMT bars are Thermo-Mechanically Treated for high yield strength. The process involves the rapid quenching of hot bars through a series of water jets after they come out of the last rolling mill stand.
The bars are cooled allowing the core and surface temperatures to equalise. The bar core cools down slowly to turn into a ferrlitepearlite aggregate. The strength of the bars are carefully controlled by optimizing the water pressure for their-pearlitic core and the tough surface of tempered martensite, thereby providing an optimum combination of high strength, ductility and toughness.
